or those of you who were fortunate to have joined us at our last event at Pläj, you may well remember the excellent cuisine in this charming diamond-in-the-rough gem of a restaurant.


Located in the Inn Behind The Opera Hotel, Pläj is simply a charming environment, featuring first-rate Scandinavian cuisine. Swedish born/owner Chef Roberth Sundell, is extremely talented. His dishes tease the palate with his own unique signature. His approach is not confined to standard fare, but a liberation of cuisine, uninhibited and a fun dining experience.


During our recent visit, we came to see if the restaurant was still hitting high marks. We left with a pocket full of notes, and at the ready to present yet another event at this well-deserved venue. After enjoying several dishes, we arrived at a menu that should provide first-time attendees with an welcome introduction to Chef Sundell’s Scandinavian dishes, and for our repeat guests, a wonderful revisit with a new twist.


Our selection of wines for the evening were chosen to highlight Chef Sundell’s unique flavor profiles, as well as being a good excuse to have a great evening of formidable claret. The hotel has modestly priced valet parking making for a pleasurable excursion into San Francisco.
