On the ethnic trail of culinary discovery, we recently enjoyed one of the finest tasting menu’s we have experienced in San Francisco. The highly complex and creative dishes created by Moroccan Chef Mourad Lahlou is a tour de force. It is a thrilling experience – delicious flavors and beautiful presentations highlight his culinary talents.
The San Francisco Chronicle named Lahlou a Rising Star Chef, and after a successful stint on Iron Chef he went on to revolutionize Moroccan cuisine. Perhaps an unusual undertaking for someone who earned a master’s degree in economics, but somewhat explains his intellectual attack with cuisine. His captivating and dramatic restaurant is theater itself, with a well-organized kitchen featuring a stable of talented chefs. The wine cellar, of glass construction, is suspended from the ceiling showcasing his impeccable attention to detail with ultra-modern flair.
Pondering which wine to enjoy for our visit we decided on a 1985 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon which was a delightful pairing for his perfectly executed dishes. It was an easy choice to decide on an iconic selection of 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon to compliment his cuisine. We hope you will join us for yet another outstanding experience.
