he allure of the white truffle (Tartufo Bianco) has captivated the culinary epicurean for centuries. This fascinating culinary delicacy and the people that bring it to market are as captivating as the item itself. To explain it to someone who has never experienced a truffle – impossible! Euphoric, yes, heavenly without question; there is no other flavor like them on earth. The nineteenth-century writer Alexandre Dumas perhaps best
expressed, "They can, on certain occasions, make women more lovable and men more tender."
Our Adventure: One week calls for surrender. To be whisked away to a special place, no responsibilities, taken on a culinary journey where you become immersed in history and another culture. Italy sets a stage for adventure, amore, and where a simple smile creates a new friendship. Look around, streets lined with ancient Italian architecture, art all convey an idea, a way of life, a philosophy expressed to convey a message to those who reside in the future—meant for you, for us, their creator's
compliment.
Time is the greatest gift you can give to one another. Italy, in its special way, gives you all the ingredients – a welcome beyond compare. The heart of this Tour is to present the best of Piemonte culture and cuisine. Our destinations are intimate, unique, and carefully chosen to weave a theme during the week, where each venue relates to a dynamic array of experiences. The Tour is not a business nor created by tour operators. Our focus is to present a unique experience -- culinary theater that enhances the culinary perspective spiced with an unconventional element of surprise. The Tour: You will arrive in Milan, where we present three events. A pre-event on Friday night, a hosted cocktail hour followed by an optional no-host dinner (which has been a big hit in prior tours),
Saturday morning is the official start of the Tour where we feature a luncheon and then a grand dinner that evening.
On Sunday, we are off to Alba - the Villa awaits! Each day showcases a minimum of three events, a winery or culinary facility production tour, a glorious luncheon followed by a white truffle dinner held at many of Piemonte's finest restaurants. I choose dishes unique to the region and its ingredients, which you will not
experience as a tourist. Each dish allows you to enjoy the unique
signature of each outstanding Chef. You will encounter a phenomenal adventure and become acquainted with Italian cuisine in a manner you have perhaps never experienced before - an awaking of your culinary soul.
The pandemic delayed our plans for was-to-be an unforgettable 20th anniversary celebration of the Tour. This year we wish to exceed our original plans with a new theme; "Teatro Della Delizia Culinaria":
The Wines: Being at the heart of the great vineyards of Barolo and Barbaresco, you will enjoy over 100 different wines. Also, we will present varietals from the area that many of you have yet to experience from producers that do not export to the U.S. Quintessential to this region, the various vineyards known for their identifiable characteristics.
Accompanied by century-old winemaking techniques, a generation of winemakers create some of the world's greatest wines. The greatest temptation is to have special bottles shipped back home to enjoy with family and friends.
What does the Tour include? All lodging, events, meals, wines, and local transportation from Saturday, October 23, 2021, to your return to Milan on Saturday morning, October 30, 2021.
